I was recently turned on to Sturmast, a Hungarian “folk influenced martial industrial” band. Yeah, wrap your head around that one. Their musical offerings are not so much songs as they are the score I would want in my ears if I was marching to war, in the midst of the apocalypse. Heavy, epic, and loud.


They also brag that they have forgone the usual samplers and electronically generated effects with acoustic instrumentation. The songs do have a raw and organic breath to them.

They actually remind me a bit of The Residents, just more reigned in structurally. It unfortunately seems as though they are not up to anything these days but…if they are reading this…GIVE ME SOME MORE DAMNIT!
